Jesus Is Lord Church Hawaii

Splendid. Dignified. Majestic. Exalted. Glorious. God’s Church reflects His glory. His glory is without compare. A Church of the Most High God is made without compare by His grace.

By His grace then, the Jesus is Lord Church stands as glorious.

1. A WORSHIPPING CHURCH

From the passion of God to the passion of leaders. From the passion of leaders to the passion of the Church. Worship has become the passion of the Church because of the object of worship: God.

“God is Spirit, and His worshippers must worship Him in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). The manifested communing presence of God is tangible in the praise and worship alone. Worshipful songs invite the presence of God (Psalm 63:1–2) and there He stays to lead and bless.

We are led and we are blessed. God is sought through worship in activities great and small. Worship is a REALITY. That is, a real necessity, not just a thoughtless routine or careless practice.

We practice seeking His presence at all times in every possible place. Worship is not confined to the four walls of the church on Sundays but is a constant. Herein, hearts are attuned every moment. As members flock at the doors in fellowship, perhaps God says, “Here come my worshippers.” No one will settle as detached attendees as others clap and surrender their souls in worship to God.

As we worship God, our souls are nourished and encouraged for yet another time. His presence settles the issue and we are made ready to hear the Word of God and battle life again for we are so much in awe of the very real presence of the Holy Spirit. Worship is, truthfully, so manifested that everyone is bidden welcome in worship camps. We are a WORSHIPPING CHURCH.

2. A HEALING CHURCH

Testimonies. They take up so much of our time but it is one of the few moments where we are alive as I’s, not we’s. Testimonials are personal experiences that we declare for God’s glory. And it is not infrequent that proofs of healing are presented here before us.

“… Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)

Healings need not only take place in crusades. They take place at homes, in hospitals, in schools or by just a spoken word. We give so much attribute to God as our Healer that we can’t help but heal and be healed!

Healed we are. Physically, the lame have been able to walk, the deaf have been able to hear, the blind have been able to see… but healing is also of the heart, of the mind and of the spirit.

His Spirit detects wounds in every area imaginable for wounds do not choose the people they infest. And yet, He heals them all! Is it not edifying to witness both physical and spiritual eyes opened? Both physical and spiritual legs capable of walking? Truthfully, we are a HEALING CHURCH.

3. A SOUL-WINNING CHURCH

We witness to God, yes, we do! But we witness and win souls. We do! For every soul that is lost, Jesus died for THAT soul on the Cross of Calvary.

“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

Soul–winning is a life–long process that we take seriously. It is not because salvation is never sure but because salvation is a moment – to – moment decision of freewill! Every soul has that free will.

Freewill brings us close to God. But sometimes it calls us away from God. Since freewill costs each man his soul, we then see each man with the eyes of eternity: each and every one of us having one undying soul.

And for eternity’s sake, we win those souls to Christ. His love and His compassion make us understand the value of every soul. We are a SOUL – WINNING CHURCH.

4. A PRAYING CHURCH

On to EDSA. On to the Prayer Garden. On to the Worship Center. We march as Christian soldiers off to war. The battle is not physical but of the spirit. And our sword is prayer.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all saints.” (Ephesians 6:18)

Our spirits groan. What about the war in the Middle East? What about the plague that has claimed lives? Shall we speak with bullhorns and spew our anger? No. We pray. We have too much faith not to believe in the power of prayer.

In our prayers, we are so conscious of our need. Is not prayer “the backbone of the Church?” Next to the study of the Word, is not prayer necessary in Christian walk? We give our reverence to God in prayer. We release our pains and frustrations in prayer. We minister in prayer.

5. A VISIONARY CHURCH

We look towards the future. Always. We even dare to dream with God, so in love are we with our Lord.

“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time. It speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay.” (Habakkuk 2:2,3)

Visions drive us, motivate us. There is always a dream of God that we follow. There is always a dream for our nation that we seek to become a reality.

Reality does not scream at us or shock us for we have visions as our comfort. From God, it is communicated to leaders. After it is incubated, it implodes in the Church.

Humbly, we are walking in our visions. We do not see them as ‘might’ or ‘maybe.’ We are walking now because their completeness, their fulfillment is a certainty. We grow in that certainty. We are a VISIONARY CHURCH.

6. A SPIRIT-FILLED CHURCH

At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to take His place and dwells in the center of our hearts. But we do not stop there. We are not satisfied. We want Him [The Holy Spirit] in full!

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17)

Anointing. Baptism. These words are so real to us. They are so real that we take them for granted as THE way of life, that is, the way life should always be. We ask for anointing in just about everything: sharing, preaching, writing, teaching, praying and listening.”

Listen in. Is the Spirit speaking? When he tells us to go, we go. Where He tells us to draw forth, there we move. His authority is never questioned. His presence is always thanked.

Thank God for His wonderful Spirit! How would life be without Him? We are a SPIRIT–FILLED CHURCH.

7. A NATION-LOVING CHURCH

Our nation is our Jerusalem. We say that again. Our nation is our Jerusalem. We cannot say this often enough, it seems.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for His inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12)

What nation would not want God as His Lord? What genuine Christian would not be willing to take part in the no–nonsense nation–building work of our Lord? Can we love other ‘peoples’ if our nation we detest?

We are concerned. Political – they are for our country. Social – they are for our country. We do something! We pray for our leaders. We pray for issues and uphold truths. We mingle. We care.

God cares for this country. So must we. Will the curses that fill our lands be ever lifted if we Christians do nothing? Will our people ever be able to minister to others if we do not build here first? We are a NATION –LOVING CHURCH.

8. A FAITH-FILLED CHURCH

Mission. Vision. Values. Word. Prayer. We have so much we believe in. We have so much with which to practice our faith.

“So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.” (Acts 16:5)

We can not claim the creation of our faith. Faith is from God, by His grace. And thankful we are for that faith.

By faith, we live from day–to–day. By faith, we serve. By faith, we worship. By faith, we dream. By faith, we are able to accomplish. By faith, through God’s grace.

Does God speak the truth? Absolutely. Am I doing His will (as confirmed by His Word through His Spirit)? Yes, by faith. Shall I fight… that I may obtain the will and plan of God? Yes, by faith. Shall I continue to stand though weak? Yes, by faith. We are a FAITH–FILLED CHURCH.

9. A PROPHETIC CHURCH

A prophet is the mouthpiece of God in revealing Himself to the nation, to the body of Christ concerning unusual events or occurrences that happen in our lifetime.

“Now, I have put words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9–10).

We have been gifted with prophets and prophecies and have become aware of what things will come, by God’s grace, even before they do. God’s chosen leaders in our churches humbly listen. We thankfully follow.

We are aware of what we follow, of who we follow. Whenever we step in faith, in obedience to the prophecy of our leaders, we also step in faith in obedience to the will of our God!

And being so gifted, we search and search His Word to confirm and seek to do His will. We are a PROPHETIC CHURCH.

10. AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH

We have five fingers in each hand. Yet all are parts of the hand, equally important. We need them all to function effectively, efficiently.

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we are many from one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” (Romans 12:4–5)

There are a variety of gifts. There are a variety of offices. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are not one above the other. Each has a role to play. Each has a ministry with which to give God the glory.

The hand cannot be used to the utmost of its capacity if it was maimed of a finger or two. God’s work cannot mature fully if the five–fold ministry was reduced by one or two.

One… two… three… four… five… Five parts in one whole. Many offices in one ministry. Many ministries in one Church. Many churches in one Body – the Body of Christ. We are an APOSTOLIC CHURCH.

11. A GIVING CHURCH

We give with open palms, with eyes averted and with our heads facing towards our feet. When we give, we do not compute. We do not count the cost.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35) the Lord Himself herein speaks!

Giving doesn’t always have to involve money. It can be time. It can be love. It can be patience. It can be empathy. We have no clocks to tell us that lights should be turned off, that we should stop listening to someone grieving. We do not have borders that remind us that only just so much love is for today, that we need to save a little love for the next day. Give. Freely we give.

No holidays: call anytime. No love limits: refresh in it as much as you want.

We give from God’s heart, as His Spirit’s grace has made us so enabled. And we receive His approval. Gladly. We are a GIVING CHURCH.

12. A SERVING CHURCH

Leadership springs from God’s nature and it is God’s nature to serve! We avoid no service for neither did He.

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

The model of our faith is the Lord and If He serves, so do we. He washed feet; we wash the church curtains – pastor or teacher or student – it makes no difference. He served food and broke bread; we serve the food and wash the dishes – politician or doctor or lawyer – it makes no difference.

Indeed, what is the difference? Hands with five fingers each: some dark, some light, some soft, some rough but all deep in dirt or soapsuds. Indeed, what is the difference? Mouths with teeth, tongue and lips each: some wide, some narrow, some thick, some thin, some loud, some soft, but all willing to serve when needed, for whoever, wherever. We serve.

We serve with His hands. We walk with His feet. We see with His eyes. We hear with His ears. We speak with His tongue. We love with His heart, all by grace, in service pure. We are a SERVING CHURCH.
